Scottsdale, AZ. 38th Annual Scottsdale Arts Festival. (Scottsdale Civic Center Mall). Open from 10 am to 5 pm, March 7 to 10. The Festival is known for the high quality and variety of fine arts and fine crafts available, as well as the continuous presentations, performances and demonstrations that take place throughout the weekend. Set amidst the lush gardens and beautiful public art sculptures covering eight acres on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall in downtown Scottsdale, the Festival is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon strolling among exhibitors, visiting with artists and enjoying live performances. Admission is $7; children under 12 are free. For lots more information see their website. For a map to the show click here. Tempe, AZ. Tempe Festival of Arts. (On Mill Ave.) Open from 10am to 6pm, March 28 to 30. This event consistently ranks among the Top 20 art festivals in the nation by Sunshine Artist and has received the Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association. Quality artists are fundamental to the success of the event. Each year, the Festival receives more than 1,000 applications from artists across the country. More than 400 artist booths line Mill Avenue and the surrounding streets presenting unique, and hand-made items. While the Festival primarily focuses on art and the artists that create it, there are also a wide variety of other activities for guests to enjoy. Live entertainment stages provide musical entertainment for festival-goers. In addition to the scheduled entertainment, street performers, vendors, sponsor exhibits and entertainment booths are set up for the amusement of Festival visitors. For a map to the show click here.
Irwindale, CA. 46th Annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire. (Santa Fe Dam). Open from 10 am to 7 pm weekends from April 5 through May 18. This annual event is much more than a crafts show. It’s great entertainment for the entire family and includes stage plays, rides, and lots of folks in costume. Many people attend just for the food.
